Genesis v1.19.98 Release Notes

October 16, 2026

Highlights

  • Blueprint phases can now run in a new goal mode that pursues its own exit criteria under configurable budgets, and threads can set a standalone goal.
  • Oracle databases can now be scanned into the Context Graph, making tables, PL/SQL packages, views, and lineage searchable.
  • Migrations can now start from a pipeline connection like Airflow, dbt Cloud, or Fivetran, and chat can ask you to pick answers with buttons or checkboxes.
  • A new read-only Goals page lets you see every project record your agents opened for you, with status explanations and evidence history.
  • Goal mode now lets you pause and resume a goal, queue questions without stopping it, and stops repeating itself when you reply mid-goal.
  • Genesis Desktop now shows an Update Required screen with in-app download and install when a newer app version is mandatory, plus a banner for recommended updates.
  • Genesis AI users without a Serper key can now scrape web pages directly, and hosted Try Me instances get built-in web search.
  • With automatic updates on, Genesis Desktop now installs a downloaded update on its own during idle time, after a 10 second notice with Cancel.

Upgrade Notes

  • Genesis Desktop now uses Genesis AI as its only AI provider; other providers are switched automatically and kept inactive after upgrade.
  • Genesis Desktop now authenticates against the live Try Me site by default; expect a one-time re-sign-in after upgrading.
  • Project record tools open, note, and read now live in their own tool group; agents, bots, and missions must add it explicitly to keep using them.

Improvements

  • Goal mode now uses a single nudge budget instead of three separate limits, and running out of nudges keeps the goal open rather than ending it.
  • Typing a migration request in chat now opens the source connection card, and an approved plan can run as a guided four-phase mission.
  • GitHub and GitLab OAuth connections can now set up their own OAuth app directly from the connection setup guide, with ready-to-copy values.
  • Document uploads to the Context Graph index are now accepted asynchronously, with index writes serialized to avoid conflicts.
  • A completed Foundry to Databricks dataset copy now leaves a durable receipt recording the dataset, target table, row counts, and people involved.
  • Action Review requests now explain approval reasons in plain language, and approved requests show status Approved instead of Executed, with technical details collapsed.
  • Blueprint required checks can now import shared, version-pinned helper libraries instead of copying the same code into every check.
  • Decided Action Review requests now stay visible in chat as a summary, show whether the agent has replied, and withdrawals list the correct actor and reason.

Bug Fixes

  • A Foundry to Databricks copy cut off by a server restart now gets one truthful notice in its thread instead of silently vanishing.
  • Chat messages sent while reconnecting are now delivered automatically or marked Not sent with a Retry button, instead of staying stuck on Sending.
  • Background job completion notices, such as a finished Databricks run, are no longer lost if the server restarts while a thread is being notified.
  • When too many tools are selected, Genesis no longer tells you to drop the tool group your active skill needs, and suggests removing what you just requested.
  • Genesis Desktop now keeps reaching Genesis AI even when the computer’s own DNS lookup fails, by falling back to public DNS servers.
  • Connections reached through non-database transports, like Palantir Foundry, now appear consistently everywhere a data source can be picked or checked.
  • Log shutdown now reports any dropped log records instead of silently discarding them, and records written during shutdown are no longer lost.
  • Goal-mode phase moves now report in the response when a turn status was dropped or a phase fell back to manual mode, not just the log.
