Genesis v1.19.88 Release Notes

August 21, 2026 This release includes the changes listed below.

Agents, Tools, and Git

  • Managed repositories with no git remote on their local checkout now serve file reads, directory listings, and searches from the local working tree with a staleness notice instead of failing outright.
  • Agents can now start a GitLab pipeline or a GitHub Actions workflow and follow its result.
  • Managed Git sources now fetch configured non-default release branches so GitLab blueprints are discovered and synchronized.
  • Agents can now use a native Google Cloud Storage tool to work with objects in cloud storage.
  • Requesting a git bundle for a shallow-cloned repository now returns a clear error instead of producing a bundle that fails later, and bundle clone failures now report the actual underlying error.

Chat, Threads, and Genesis Apps

  • Launchpad chat entry points now route users to their own authorized agent instead of a hardcoded default, removing dead-end chat actions for users without accessible agents.
  • Chat turns no longer hang for up to five minutes after delivering their full reply.
  • Chat attachment uploads no longer fail solely for taking longer than 30 seconds on slow connections.
  • Operators can now select which threads a retention policy would delete.
  • The chat sandbox runner now offers file download links and an engine picker, along with improvements to stopping runs, thread creation, the panel, and attachments.
  • Newly loaded thread skills now appear in the context pane, and thread controls no longer overlap context-pane tabs.
  • Message thumbs-up and thumbs-down ratings are now collected on per message towards future agent performance and evaluation framework.
  • Message rating thumbs now visibly fill in when selected and can be clicked again to retract a saved rating.
  • On mobile phones, opening a chat thread no longer covers the conversation with a full-screen checklist panel, and message action icons no longer overlap message text.
  • File references in tool-call results now open an inline preview directly in chat.
  • Conversation turns no longer go silent when the configured summary model for context compression is invalid, and compression now falls back to a working model automatically to keep the turn alive.
  • Chat file-upload failures now show the specific reason instead of a generic error message.

Connections and Configuration

  • The blueprint browser now offers List and Tile views with sortable columns, combinable filters, safe regex search, provenance badges, author attribution, and per-user persisted view preferences.
  • A single managed source with a missing configuration value no longer breaks the entire Managed Sources list, the list now shows specific failure reasons, and creating a document-syncing managed source without a required remote repository URL is now rejected at creation time.
  • Launchpad now supports onboarding data from local files.
  • Creating a documents source without a remote URL, whether through the agent tool or the API, is now rejected up front instead of producing a source that can never stay in sync.

Connectors

  • MCP connectors are now built on an updated connector framework with interactive sign-in and a choice of shared or private scope.
  • UNLOCK! The MCP feature enables connection to ANY MCP server that you may have running inside your organization. This means connectivity to potentially any domain / system that exposes itself via MCP.
  • Agents can enumerate, inspect, and trigger Talend Open Studio job runs, retrieve output by run ID, and scan Talend projects into the Context Graph with job and file lineage, including runs delegated to a remote runner service.
  • Matillion pipeline publishing now bundles all matched files atomically without silently removing previously published pipelines, and surfaces upstream errors, automatic retries, and troubleshooting hints accurately.
  • GitLab connections support a configurable REST timeout, show partial repository listings when some pages fail to load, and surface a clear error state in the repository picker.
  • OpenMetadata tag and metadata updates sent as PATCH requests no longer fail with an unsupported media type error.
  • Agents can add or remove OpenMetadata tags on columns by name.

Context Graph

  • Custom Scanner now fully implemented, allowing you to connect Context Graph to any source. See Contet Graph documentation for details. This enables users to include potentially any source in the context graph and it will be scanned and updated accordingly.
  • Stale-cleanup now correctly marks dropped Postgres, Databricks, MongoDB, and Snowflake tables and collections as stale instead of leaving them in the Context Graph indefinitely.
  • Context Graph git scanning supports GitHub App authentication in addition to Personal Access Tokens, so organizations that disallow PATs can scan GitHub-backed repositories.

Data and Analytics

  • SQL queries run with git-export enabled are now saved to query history immediately, so exported results are recallable through past-query search.
  • The data explorer can now browse BigQuery metadata.

Flows and Missions

  • A new API endpoint previews the upcoming run times of a crontab schedule given a timezone and an optional starting point, returning up to 50 timestamps and correctly handling daylight-saving transitions and schedules that never fire.
  • A new health endpoint reports which scheduled jobs have gone stale based on a configurable idle-time threshold.
  • A new endpoint reports how many times a schedule will fire within a specified day window with correct timezone handling so occurrences aren’t undercounted for schedules ahead of UTC, letting overly frequent schedules be caught before they’re saved.
  • Mission document flows display real Claude Code, Codex, and Coco implementation handoffs with provider branding and task status.
  • Projects can organize related tasks, Missions, Genesis Apps, and Flows with shared grouping, filtering, assignment, archive, and restore, task forks and handoffs inherit an active Project when eligible, and project assignment and membership state now fail safely instead of showing stale data.

Permissions and Safety

  • A new manage_genesis_enhancements permission is available to allow non-admins to view Enhancements submitted, and disabled configuration items are labeled more clearly in the Config pane.

Requests and Work Tracking

  • Teams Connect and Settings buttons in the Requests health view and cold-start setup screen now open the specific agent’s Teams configuration tab instead of the bare agents list.
  • Requests created from Slack and Teams conversations now deep-link back to their source conversation, including work items created before this feature existed.

Security

  • Users without permission no longer see Docs or Config navigation or document-index management controls, and direct visits to Docs are denied unless the user can manage document indexes.
  • The bundled Tailscale version is updated to address known Go CVEs.
  • Context Graph’s Snowflake role-grant lookup now fails closed instead of open when the lookup itself fails.

User Experience

  • The redesigned agent context menu and thread capability options, including mode, model tier, debriefs, share link, and lineage, are now available in every deployment.
  • Chat no longer pulls you back to the newest message when you scroll up while an agent is active.
  • The tab row on pages with a shared tabbed header, including the agent overview page, now scrolls horizontally on narrow screens so every tab, including deep-linked or permission-gated tabs, stays reachable and correctly highlighted.
  • The chat composer on iPhone now stays visible above Safari’s browser controls and the on-screen keyboard, and per-message controls no longer obscure text or duplicate as an extra toolbar after a tap.

Preview (opt-in)

  • Admins can enable automatic wiki learning corrections so a confident contradiction verdict supersedes an outdated learning once a configurable confidence threshold is met.
  • The sandbox thread runner can now be configured and toggled through admin Advanced Settings, and stays off by default until an admin enables it.
